Agatha Angela Lang

December 30, 1925 — November 23, 2015

Funeral Mass for Agatha A. Lang will be at 11:00a.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 at St. Cecilias Catholic Church. Father Michael Schemm and Deacon Vince Mrasek will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be 1pm--5pm, Sunday, November 29 at the funeral home, a prayer service will begin at 5pm. Agatha passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Hillcrest Medical Center with family by her side. She was 89.

Agatha "Aggie" Pfannenstiel was born December 30, 1925 in Munjor, Kansas to Mary (Korbe) Pfannenstiel and Peter Pfannenstiel of Volga-German ancestory. She attended St. Francis Catholic Grade School in Munjor when in 1933, along with her family, she moved to a farm south of Collyer, KS where she finished grade school at Banner, a country school. She graduated from Trego County High School in WaKeeney, KS. To assist in the WWII war effort, she attended teaching courses at Ft. Hays State College during the following summer. She then taught one year in a rural gade school south of Voda, KS.

On November 5, 1947 she married Albert Leo "Bert" Lang, a WWII veteran, from St. Peter, KS, and the couple lived in Hoxie, Oberlin, Atwood and Colby, KS. With Bert's job, the family relocated to Claremore and this has been home since.

A stay at home mom, Agatha's number one priority was her family and their well being. Agatha was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and faithfully supported them through the years. She most enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.

Agatha was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bert and her brothers Alvin and Felix Pfannenstiel. She is survived by her children Gerald D. Lang of Claremore, Sharon K Redmond and husband Tom of Colby, Kansas and Ronald L Lang and wife Deborah of Junction City, Kansas; 2 granddaughters and 2 grandsons; 4 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons; her brother Ralph Pfannenstiel of Silver Lake, Kansas and sisters Therese Schemm of Lyons, Kansas and Marilyn Blevins of Billings, Montana.
