Bill passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the age of 68.

The son of William and Mary Meyer was born August 27, 1949 in Chelsea, Oklahoma. As a young boy he lived in the Tiawah community. He began attending Tiawah schools before moving to Chelsea around the age of 10. Over the next few years he continued his education at Condry and Chelsea Public Schools. At the age of 18 Bill enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. During his enlistment he served in the Vietnam War. After the war ended Bill was discharged and returned home to Chelsea. It was then that he met Patsy Maggard. From that point on they were inseparable. The newly formed couple made their home in Chelsea. However Bill's job as a heavy equipment operator did take them to Weir, Kansas for a couple of years. Once back in Chelsea, Bill continued to work as an equipment operator in the coal mines and for road construction companies. He worked for companies such as Fuel Dynamics, 4D Energy, and Empire construction. He retired in 1996 due to his health.

There were many hobbies Bill enjoyed, raising cattle, and working on old cars. He also liked finding treasures at antique shops; his favorite was collecting old license plates from the late 30's and 40's. However, fishing was his favorite hobby. Catching spoonbill was his fish of choice, but he wasn't picky. He was also quite talented and could make just about anything from wood.

Those family members that survive include his wife Patsy of 47 years; children Melvin L. Clem and wife Monique of Post Falls, Idaho and Teresa J. Owen and husband David of Chelsea; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; 4 nieces; his brother Steven Meyer and wife Kitty of Chelsea, and sister Sue Emmett and husband John of Antlers, Oklahoma.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tracy Meyer and brother David Meyer.
