The son of William and Violet Butler Heinze was born February 13, 1945 in Davenport, Iowa. He was raised in Iowa until moving to Tulsa with his mother. As he became old enough to work, he began working at Mr. T's restaurant. Over the next few years he worked at a few local restaurants and service stations. In 1976 he took a job as a mechanic for Melton Sales in Claremore. He retired in 1992. In his spare time Carl loved collecting old cars, radios, watches and clocks, as well as fishing every chance he could. He was also a member of the 66 Car Club of Claremore and a lifetime member of the American Legion and the DAV.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Violet; and sister, Sally Holliday.
