Services for Carol Sue Stogsdill will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, December 22 from 1pm—8pm at the funeral home with family receiving visitors from 4pm—8pm. Carol slipped away from this world to Heaven peacefully in her sleep at her home in Tulsa on December 18, 2014 of natural causes at the age of 67.

Carol Sue Stogsdill was born May 8, 1947 in Claremore, Oklahoma to James Jonathan Stogsdill, Sr. and Bonnie Belle (Battenfield) Stogsdill. Her maternal grandfather was David Mace Battenfield, a former Rogers County Judge and attorney. Her father was a founding member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where the family and Carol were members. Her mother lovingly raised Carol and her five brothers in the home. Carol graduated from Claremore High School with the class of 1965. Carol continued her education by attending Draughons Business School in Tulsa. She had worked for Goodwill Industries and Show Inc. in various job titles over the years. Carol’s interests included Bible study, crafts of all kinds, and watching John Wayne movies. Carol was most happy surrounded by her housemates, care providers, and her own family members, all of whom she loved. She will always be remembered for her strong faith, positive attitude in spite of many life challenges, her sassy wit and keen sense of humor, but most of all, her kindness, loving spirit, and joy of life.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and her brother James J. Stogsdill, Jr. Those family members that survive include her brothers Jack, Gary, Don, and Doug Stogsdill; her sister Winona Hisle; and her guardian for many years, Cathy (Weddington) Stogsdill. Nieces and nephews: Alan, Jaime, and Sarah Oktay; Randy, Mike, and Shea Stogsdill; Mindy Stogsdill; Callie and Philip Stogsdill, Geneva Thomas; Eric Stogsdill, Christa Blue, and Bonnie Campbell; several great-nephews including John Campbell and Vincent Stogsdill; along with the expectation of two more great-nephews with due dates in the very near future. Other survivors include her two housemates, Barbara and Lauren, of her group home in Tulsa as well as the dedicated home therapy staff of Bios Corporation. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of America; the Alzheimer's Foundation of America; the Salvation Army, Redeemer Lutheran, or to one's own favorite charity or place of worship. Carol touched and enriched our lives, she will be missed, she will be remembered and loved...always.
