Cindy Kay Boyd

Services for Cindy Kay Boyd will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow at Oowala Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, April 17, 2017, from 1-8 pm. Cindy passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. She was 63.
Born October 11, 1953 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Jim Boyd and Frances Roberts Boyd Dennis, Cindy attended schools in Winganon, Delaware, Alluwe, and Chelsea. As a young child she was often sick with bronchitis and had breathing problems.
Growing up on a dairy farm in Delaware, she participated in 4-H, rodeos, and horse shows. Cindy attended many rodeos in which she barrel raced and won. She entered numerous cutting horse events, where she excelled as a competent horsewoman.Cindy had a competitive spirit and was always ready to compete and take on any challenge. She had an affection for animals, especially horses and dogs.
She graduated from Chelsea High School with the class of 1972, where she was involved in various activities and events. She was voted 1970 Homecoming Queen. She was an amazing basketball player, winning many games as the highest points scored leader.
Cindy married Gary Stinnett, and they made their home in Chelsea before moving to Claremore. This union was blessed with two sons. Jimmy Kimble Stinnett, her first son, died as an infant. Her second son Matthew Stinnett grew up in Chelsea, where he lives with his family. She was briefly married to John Pense, with whom daughter Rachel was born. Rachel lives with her father in Sapulpa. In 1983, she married Gerald Tibbs and welcomed son Jeremy to the family. They lived for four years in Illinois, where she began a sales career in manufactured homes before returning to Oklahoma. After her divorce, she began working at car dealerships as finance manager. While working at a car dealership, she met Rod Daris, whom she later married. They lived in Amarillo for several years before moving to Broken Arrow, where son Jeremy attended school and grew up. After several years they ended their marriage. In later years, Cindy stayed at her father’s home in Choteau with her brother, Jimmy and sister Julie.
A loving mother, daughter and sister, Cindy will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raleigh and Lydia Roberts and Garland and Leona Boyd; her father Jim Boyd, and infant son Jimmy Kimble Stinnett.
