A Life Celebration is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26th at the family pond for Curtis Lee Crabtree. Curtis passed away at his home on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the age of 57.
The son of Herman and Jamesina Crabtree was born October 6, 1959 on a frosty morning at a doctors office in Summersville, Missouri. After graduating from Foyil High school in 1977 he started is 27 year career in the aerospace industry at Nordam. His later years were spent at Trece Incorporated before leaving to focus on his health.
In 1977 he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Cook. They had three children. He purchased his home from his grandparents in 1978 where he resided until his death.
Curtis lived his life exactly the way he wanted. He spent his days doing the things he loved, such as fishing in the family pond, growing prize winning watermelons, breaking things just so he could fix them, and making award winning chili. He started cooking at 9 years old and made sure his children inherited his passion for creating new recipes. He had a zest for exploration and an incredibly sharp and inquisitive mind. Learning how things worked was a obsession of his. He was known for his love of music of all genres, though most associate him with ZZ Top.
His approach to life was to make everything fun. He had a knack for extravagant story telling and making people laugh. He created many wonderful memories for his children and those around him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herman Leroy Crabtree, his grandfather Arvel Crabtree, and grandparents Jim and Irma Richardson.
Survivors include his son, Herman Louis Crabtree and wife Codi,
daughters, Catherine and Carolyn Crabtree and grandchildren Ben, Olivia, and Reed Crabtree, mother Jamesina Crabtree, grandmother, Lorene Crabtree, sister Carmen Cook and husband Rick, sister Cindy Goodman and husband Ray, and many other uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
