Born June 28, 1938 in Orange County, California to Jacob and Bertha Mary (Shepard) Fields, Earnie spent the early part of his life in California and Arkansas. He graduated from school in Anaheim, California and enlisted in the US Army. He proudly served his country for 4 years. On October 12, 1962, he married Dorothy Marie Adams, and the couple made their home in California for a time before moving to Oklahoma. Following his honorable discharge, Earnie worked at a machine shop, later he began over the road truck driving. This job took him all over the United States, where he saw many parts of the country.

Following his retirement in 2003, Earnie enjoyed his hobbies, which included singing, watching western movies, and most important, telling folks about the Lord. He was a true witness to his faith and shared his story with everyone he met. Family was his first priority, and he loved spending time with them, especially the times he was able to spend studying the Bible with his grandsons.

Those family members that survive include his wife Dorothy of their home; his children Donald Ray Fields and wife Janet of Chelsea, Dale LeRoy Fields and wife Rachelle of Claremore and Kenneth Wade Fields of Hominy; his grandchildren Landon Drake Fields, Gabe Colton Fields and Dillon Slade Fields, and his sister Lorean L. Bradford of Owasso. Earnie was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Dee M. Fields and Lou Dean Hockersmith, Ruby Fields, Burnie Fields and Laura Fields.
