Ezekiel Leslie Tennyson, 19, of Foyil, died on Sunday, June 12, 2016, suddenly and unexpectedly.
He was born on July 24, 1996, in Claremore, to Wesley Mark and Karelee Leslie (Turner) Tennyson.
He attended Foyil Public Schools, graduating in 2015. He graduated in May 2016 from the Auto Tech program at Northeastern Technology Center in Pryor, and was employed at Jack Kissee Ford in Claremore.
As a sophomore at Foyil, he played a season of basketball. He was also on the academic team. He loved to fish and work around the house with his dad. He enjoyed listening to his favorite music and watching documentaries but he loved action films as well.
He had a mischievous smile that made you wonder what he was thinking of doing next. Fireworks were of particular interest to him. He had a love of cars which he pursued as a graduate of the NTC Auto Tech program and later as an employee of Jack Kissee Ford. He was very respectful and a hard worker. His friends and family all called him Zeke.
Zeke was a very sweet young man. He was adored by his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his parents Wes and Karelee Tennyson and his sister Emma Grace Tennyson of Foyil. Also, his grandfather Charles Everett Turner, of Sperry.
Additional survivors include his Uncle Byrl Edward Tennyson and wife, Wanda of Tiawah; Aunt Carolyn Sue Blevins and husband David of Foyil; Uncle Herbert Lee Tennyson, Jr. and wife, Virginia of Foyil; Aunt Kathy Cooper and husband Dennis of Owasso; Aunt Melinda Caseboldt and husband Floyd of Owasso; Uncle Kenny Lee Turner of Sperry; Uncle Douglas Arns and wife Kim of Pensacola; Aunt Marea Breedlove and husband Dan of Locust Grove; Aunt Jeanien Rutherford and husband Rusty of Broken Arrow; Aunt Karla Christy of Edna, Texas; Uncle Keith Turner of Glenpool; Uncle Ken Turner and wife Stacy of Fort Gibson and Uncle Karl Turner and wife Julie of Tulsa. He had numerous cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Herbert Lee and Marguerite (Gambel) Tennyson, maternal grandmother Virginia Lee (Buck) Turner and Uncle Walter Wayne Tennyson.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, June 20, 2 p.m. at the Claremore First United Methodist Church on Hwy 88 in Claremore. Services are under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Pastor Simon Ratcliff will officiate.
