Service for James D. Elledge will be 10:00a.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 27 from 1pm-8pm, with family receiving visitors from 5pm-7pm. James passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018. He was 82.

Born February 9, 1936 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to James Audry and Ruth Maree (Dillman) Elledge, Jim graduated with the class of 1952 from Stillwater High School. He faithfully served his country with the US Army. Later he married Linda Lee Hixson on December 17, 1966 at Claremore Baptist Church. Jim’s work career was with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a service technician, he retired in 2000.

Jim had several hobbies that included gardening, playing games and attending activities and events of his many nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Those family members that survive include his wife Linda Elledge; sisters-in-law Audine Battenfield and Kathy Wilson and husband James all of Claremore; brother-in-law Edd Hixson, Jr. and wife Diane of Tulsa; nieces and nephews Darrell Battenfield and wife Shelly, Mark Wilson and wife Anna all of Claremore, Erica Wilson of Tulsa, Dustin Wilson and wife Melissa and Jason Hixson and wife Heather all of Broken Arrow; great nieces and nephews Blake Battenfield, Peyton Battenfield, Brady Hixson, Keara Battenfield, Callie Battenfield, Audrey Slater, Nova Wilson and Baylee Hixson. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond Elledge and Edwin Elledge; sister Audrey Ann Elledge; mother-in-law Helen Hixson and brother-in-law Charles Battenfield.
