Johnny Clemmens

August 28, 1975 — October 6, 2015

Funeral service for Johnny Stephen Clemmens will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2015 at Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Pastor Phil Tallman will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore under the direction of the MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service

Johnny went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2015 at the age of 40.

The son of Jim and Judy Krueger Clemmens was born August 28, 1975 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was raised in the Foyil area, where he attended Foyil Public Schools. Johnny was an exceptional high school football player. He earned all state honors, and was selected as most outstanding defensive player for the eastern half of Oklahoma during his senior season. In 1993 he graduated as a member of Foyil High School. Wanting to continue his education he enrolled at Northeast Oklahoma college in Miami, and later attended Northeastern State in Tahlequah. Eager to begin his working career, Johnny took a job working for Meadow Gold Milk. He would later work as a hardwood floor installer. Where he did beautiful work, and always took pride in his jobs. Then most recently as a machinist for C&C Machine Shop in Claremore.

In his spare time Johnny had many hobbies. One of his favorites was fishing. Catching crappie with his dad and other family members was always at the top of his list. He also had a great ear for music. This led him to playing the guitar. He also was a very talented painter. Church was also important to him. He was a member at Eastern Hills Baptist Church where he had recently begun his latest work for the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Steve and Lucille Clemmens, John, Lorene and Colleen Krueger, and a nephew Enoch Jacob Yoder; great-grandparents, Jake and Martha Rader and Clarence and Ethel Smith along with other aunts and uncles.


Survivors include his parents, Jim and Judy Clemmens; sisters, Kim Knaust and husband Brett, Stacey Yoder and husband Greg; nephews, Brett James Knaust and wife Taylor, Chance Knaust, and Holden Yoder; niece, Aubrey Lynn Yoder as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
