Born May 24, 1949 in Chelsea to John E. and Vera Atha (McKinzie) Raffety, Kay began her education in Bushyhead and finished at Chelsea. She married Fred Brechbuhl on July 21, 1966, and the couple made their home in Claremore. Kay enjoyed many hobbies, photography, raising dogs, and collecting cars. She always had a camera ready and spent many hours getting that right picture. Kay and Fred enjoyed raising and showing Samoyed dogs, of which they had many champions. Her car collection varied, but her favorite was a bright yellow 2010 Dodge Challenger. Kay was very caring and thoughtful to everyone she met.

Those family members that survive include her husband Fred of the home; her mother Atha Raffety; her brother Wesley Raffety, all of Claremore; her niece Stacey Lawley and husband Stony of Sand Springs, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kay was preceded in death by her father, John E. Raffety.
