Kenneth Richards

Funeral service for George "Kenneth" Richards will be 10 a.m., Thurs., July 30, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Clark officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-5 p.m.
Kenneth passed away Sat., July 25, 2015, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 81.
The son of George R. Richards and Ollie M. (Henderson) Richards was born Dec. 20, 1933, in Oklahoma City. His father worked in construction therefore the family lived in many communities while Kenneth was growing up. He did play baseball in school and later while he served in the U.S. Army. Kenneth worked in construction all his life, and was a 60 year member of the Brick Layers Union where he was a cement finisher. On September 8, 1980, Kenneth married Linda Lou Jordan in Pryor. They made their home in Tulsa before moving to Claremore. Kenneth loved all sports, and especially loved cheering for the OU Sooners. He also enjoyed fishing and reading.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Richards; and sister, Velma Newman.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; and sisters: Faye Pemberton of Chickasha, Leota Ackins of Tulsa, and Linda Biggs of Tulsa.
