Larry Douglas Stookey

Graveside service for Larry Douglas Stookey will be 2 p.m., Fri., Feb. 20, at Carselowey Cemetery, Vinita, with Chaplain Duke officiating. Services are under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Claremore.

Larry passed away Fri., Feb. 13, 2015, at his home at the age of 64.

The son of Alvin Walter and Dorothy Lou (Stanley) Stookey was born June 26, 1950, in Hominy. Larry graduated from Claremore High School, and went to work for the Claremore Police Department where he was one of two divers for the city. Larry then went to work as a driller for a search and development company in the oil industry, and KITO radio station where he was a disc jockey. He most recently worked for Spur Ranch in the Vinita area. Larry loved being outdoors with his dogs, fishing, and enjoying wildlife.

On Dec. 14, 1994, Larry married Vangie L. Smith in Miami.

He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Douglas Stookey; his parents; and sister, Lou Ann Enkey.

Larry is survived by his wife, Vangie of the home; sister, Jana Morton; daughter, Dana Wagnon; 4 step-daughters; 3 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; and 7 step-grandchildren.
