Graveside service for Linda Dale Thornbrugh will be held under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home & Cremation Service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2016, at Dawes Cemetery. Pastor James Brunk will officiate.
Linda passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the age of 64.
The daughter of Ronal and Eloise Murnan Grigg was born November 29, 1951 in Nowata, Oklahoma. As a young child she and her family lived near Big Cabin. However around the age 6, her family moved to Roxana, Illinois where her father worked as a boilermaker. She spent most of her teenage years there, then another move took her to Paducah, Kentucky, where she graduated with the class of 1970. After graduation she stayed in Kentucky a short time before moving to Parsons, Kansas to be near her family. This is where she met Jim King. They married in 1973. The next several years she traveled with Jim as he worked in various states. In 1980 she and Jim decided to move to Chelsea. Linda then decided to attended beauty college in Claremore. Upon graduating she worked locally in a couple of different salons. However this was short lived, because Jim became sick, and she began staying at home as his caregiver. In 1985 after the passing of her husband Jim, Linda took a job working at Grand Lake at the Shangri La Resort. After a while she wanted a change and moved to California. She lived there for a couple of years before returning to Oklahoma, settling in Bartlesville then eventually back to Chelsea.
Her hobbies included crocheting, doing all sorts of arts and crafts, and cooking. She also loved spending time with all of her favorite animals.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jim King.
Survivors include her parents, Ronal and Eloise Grigg of the home; son, Mike Grigg and wife Billie Anne of Chelsea, and grandchildren, Ian, Lily, and Willow Grigg of Chelsea, as well as many other extended family.
