Maxine Thompson

Funeral service for Zelma "Maxine" Thompson will be 10:00a.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at Sageeyah Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday, February 19 from 1-8 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8pm.

Maxine passed away Tues., Feb. 17, 2015, at Claremore Nursing Home at the age of 80.

The daughter of Fred Lincoln and Itis Agnes (Ramsey) Owens was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Vera. Maxine graduated from Vera High School in 1952. On June 29, 1953, she married Paul D. Thompson in Bartlesville. Maxine loved taking care of her family and home; and enjoyed blue grass music and gardening.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Ira Isaac Owens, Ernest Owens, Edgar Owens, and Arthur Allison Owens; sisters, Nellie Marie Stout and Verba Leona Gouglar; and her grandson Jack D. Thompson.

She is survived by her husband, Paul D. Thompson of the home; children: Jack Delbert Thompson and wife Cathie of Wilcox, AZ, Debra Pauline Thompson of Claremore, and Connie Louise Wilson and husband Eddie of Chelsea; her grandchildren: Shane Thompson, Travis Thompson, Levi Adams and Casey Wilson; her great-grandchildren: Caiden Thompson, Bradey, Maylee, Sawyer and Camry Thompson and Kaleb and Abby Thompson; and her sister, Lucille Pauline Long of Collinsville.
