Funeral service for Maybelle Williams will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 20, at First Christian Church, Chelsea, with Pastor Richard Billings officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery, Claremore, under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Claremore. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday 1-6 p.m.
Maybelle passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 88.
The daughter of William Robert Wooten and Blanch Grace (Dunn) Wooten was born March 30, 1928, in Collinsville. She attended Bushyhead school. On September 15, 1951, Maybelle married Edward Eugene Williams. Maybelle enjoyed sewing, gardening, working puzzles, babysitting, and visiting with family and friends. She loved taking care of and spending time with her birds, Sugar and Precious, and her little dog, Sheena Marie.
Maybelle is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; son, Larry Eugene Williams and wife, Virginia; parents; brothers: Billy Daryle, Robert Charles, Olen Lavern, Shirley Leon, and James Thomas Wooten.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Katarina Hunt and husband, Andrew of Lake Forest, CA; siblings: Wanda Jean Bryant of Coffeyville, KS, Willetta Nadine Cutsinger of Perry, Alice Mae Gottschalk of Perry, Betty Lorene King of Kansas City, KS, Mary Mildred Neilson of Coffeyville, KS, Linda Louise Fawler of Coffeyville, KS, Carolyn Jane Grey of Coffeyville, KS, Loretta Sue Myres of Bartlesville, Kennith Ray Wooten of Lake Jackson, TX, and Lowell Wayne Wooten of Mounds Valley, KS.
