Peggy Louise Kohler passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the age of 90.

The daughter of Berry and Ruby Reynolds Mauldin was born January 20, 1926 in Texarkana, TX. As a young girl her family moved a couple of times, to Shreveport, Louisiana and then to Ft. Smith, Arkansas. It was there that she attended high school graduating with the class of 1944. A short time later with the help of a friend, Peggy met a young Army Air Corpsman Charles Kohler. They would marry on February 15, 1947. The newlywed couple made their home in Ft. Smith and began raising their family. A few years later they moved to Oklahoma living in Tulsa, Owasso and Chelsea.

At this point in time Peggy's life was very busy. She was working very hard not only as a mother, but as a medical clerk. Peggy's work places would include St. Francis Hospital, Craig General Hospital as well as a few resident doctor's offices.

There were also many other things that were important to Peggy. Her faith being one of them. She was instrumental in helping start St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso. Where she would belong to the Altar Society, Women's Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus, and was a former member of the Toast Ministries. All of the hard work and dedication followed her when she became a member of St. Cecelia in Claremore. She continued her service to God there by leading the prayer chain for the parish.

Peggy was also a woman of many talents. Her ability to sew, knit and crochet was extraordinary. Those skills allowed her to make all types of clothing for her children and grandchildren. She was also a talented pianist. and organist, playing occasionally at church. However if asked of her greatest talent, she would say it was the ability to raise such a wonderful family that has always stayed close to each other.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Berry and Ruby and husband Charles.

Survivors include her children, Mary Strouss and husband Tom of Neosho, Missouri, Stephen Kohler and wife Shelly of Vinita, Thomas Kohler and wife Monica of Skiatook, Deborah Abbott and husband Bill of Vinita, Karl Kohler and longtime friend Susan Harris of Wichita, KS, and Donald Kohler and wife Diana of Chelsea, 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and sister-in-laws Marilyn English and Teresa Lovern.
