Charles Raymond Wallis passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the age of 86.

The son of Homer and Bertha Jones Wallis was born January 11, 1931, in Claremore, Oklahoma. As a young boy, he was raised in rural Claremore, in the Harmony Starr community. Later, he would attend Sequoyah schools, where he graduated as a member of the class of 1948.

A short time later, Raymond's life would change. While at a party, he met Rose Ellen Seals. They would marry on December 27, 1951, in Claremore. However, their honeymoon was short lived. Raymond was called to serve his country during the Korean War. He served until being honorably discharged in 1954. Raymond then returned home to Claremore.

In 1958, Raymond and his family moved to Tulsa . There he began his long career in the Aviation industry. It started at Spartan Aircraft, which led to McDonnell Douglas, Rockwell International, and eventually to retiring from Boeing in 1992. During this time, he was also active in church. He attended Turley Baptist Church, and later South Lakewood Baptist Church. After living in Tulsa for 43 years, Raymond and Rose decided to return home to Claremore. At that point they joined Memorial Heights Baptist Church. There he served as an usher, was on the bereavement committee, and was a member of the Sams-Sals.

In his spare time, Raymond loved gardening and golfing, which he did until his health prevented him from continuing. He also collected Case knives, coins, and Geo. Lefton lighted Christmas Villages. There was also family fun night, when they would play numerous card games, and dominoes. He loved doing that so much that he started a game night with his Sunday School class.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Bertha Wallis; step-mother, Dorothy Yarnell Wallis, and brothers, Richard, Mitchell, and Austin Wallis, and sister, Nadine Genzel.

Survivors include his wife Rose, daughters, Deborah Harrison, Barbara Wood and husband Danny, and Kimberly Holden and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Jennifer Keeler, Lindsey Kerr, Katie Kerr, Miranda Hampton, Michelle Harrison, and Taylor Holden; great-grandchildren, Corbin London, Boston, Cash, Macie, Cheyenne, Brooklyn, Kaleigh, and Zachary, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Hosea and Belza Wallis, Marvin and Neppie Wallis, and Jerry and Cheryl Wallis, sister, Louise Jantzen, and numerous step-brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in Lieu of flowers, donations be made to Memorial Heights Baptist Church Building Fund
