Robert “Rob” Webber, Jr. was born August 21, 1960, in Claremore, OK. Rob was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July, 2016, and fought a valiant battle.

He is survived by his mother, Carlene Webber; his sister Lisa and husband David Surritte, and his brother Mick Webber and wife Audrey, all of Claremore; nephews Matthew, Andrew and Alex Webber; nieces Jennifer Surritte McKinnon, and Kelly Surritte; and his long-time girlfriend Cathie Langston.

Rob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Webber, Sr., and grandparents Carl and Pauline Burkhard, and Clinton and Mary Webber.

Rob grew up in Claremore and graduated from Claremore High School in 1978. He attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from Claremore College.

Rob was a gifted athlete, he and Danny Drew were the 1978 state champions in doubles tennis (the first-ever state champions at Claremore High School), but his true passion was golf. He loved playing golf with his Saturday morning group. Rob was an avid follower of the world of sports and if you walked into his home, multiple TV’s were tuned to a sporting event.

Following college, Rob worked at Worthington Industries, and for the past 24 years at Utility Tri-State in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Rob loved his co-workers and customers. He took enormous pride in being a part of the Utility family.

Rob was especially close to his three nephews, and he encouraged their love of sports, especially golf.

His fight was inspiring to his family and friends. He was beloved by many and will be missed. Memorial contributions may be made to Porta Caeli House, hospice home, 2440 N. Harvard Avenue Tulsa, OK 74158.
