Thomas L. Riggs

Funeral service for Thomas Leslie Riggs will be 3 p.m., Fri., Jan. 30, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Tulsa, with Rev. Leonard Busch, III, officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Inola, under the direction of Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.

Tom passed away Tues., Jan. 27, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 76.

The son of T.L. and Marie (Wright) Riggs was born March 22, 1938, in Tulsa. Tom grew up in and around the Inola area. He graduated from Inola High School and continued his education at Northeastern State in Tahlequah and Oklahoma City University where he studied auto mechanics. In 1962, Tom entered the U.S. Army, serving at Ft. Knox, KY, until 1964. On Aug. 29, 1964, Tom married Janet Driska in St. Louis, MO.

Tom was gifted with mechanical skills which he used in various jobs throughout his life. He loved people. He loved talking with them and especially sharing his fishing tales. He was a friend to many. He loved his church and was a member of Good Shepherd for decades.

Tom is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet of the home; sons: David Riggs and wife, Tiffanie, and Michael Riggs and wife, Elizabeth all of whom he was extraordinarily proud; and grandchildren: Rebecca, Colin, Tara, and Holly.
