Funeral service for W.O "Wig" Thompson was 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Inola Funeral Home Chapel.
W.O. passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the age of 92.
The son of George and Servillia White Thompson was born October 31,1924 in Clark, Arkansas. As a young boy, he and his family lived in Paris, Arkansas before moving to Oklahoma, settling in the Inola area.
W.O.'s working career began as a young boy working on the family farm. As he became older he began working as a mechanic for McDonell Douglas. After he retired, W.O then concentrated on farming. He raised cattle and pigs, as well as farmed hundreds of acres in and around Inola. His summers were always spent in thy hayfields. In fact, he was referred to by many as king of the hayfield.
In his spare time, W.O. loved farming, ranching and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Servillia; his first wife, Clella Thompson, and his brother George Thompson, Jr.
Survivors included his wife, Dorothy of the home; step-children, Diane Walden of Blanchard, and Danny Butler of Enid; 6 step-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Griggs of Henderson, Nevada, and brother, Robert Thompson.
