Barbara Jean Davis

Graveside service for Chelsea resident, Barbara Jean Davis will be 11:00 am Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Ketchum Cemetery. Barbara passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. She was 81 years old.
Barbara was born to Foss Thompson and Lucille (Hallett) Thompson on September 23, 1937 in Vinita, Oklahoma. She grew up and attended school there, before moving to Picher with her mother. It was in Picher that she met J.R. Davis, and the two were married on December 26, 1957. For the next several years, home was wherever J.R. was working. Eventually they settled in the Cardin area. In the late 2000's, Barbara moved to Chelsea to be nearer to her daughter Kathy.
In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed collecting photos and recipes, watching Jimmy Swaggart ministries, listening to music, playing pool, and visiting with friends. She also loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Foss and Lucille Thompson; husband J.R. Davis; son Boyd Davis; brother Barrett Hildebrand; sister Sue Cox; and grandchild Kelby Johns.
Survivors include her sons Bill Davis and wife Gay, and Kevin Davis; daughters Kathy Burgett,
and Kammie Johns and Rich Barnett; brother Eddie Thompson; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
