Memorial serivce for Bradley Truitt will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel.

Bradley Lynn Truitt was Born to Forrest and Helen Truitt, July 17, 1954 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska he passed away on December 23, 2017 (Chickasha, Oklahoma).

Brad attended elementary school (kindergarten through 5th grade) at Fairview #34, a two-room country school house in Mitchell, Nebraska.

His early childhood was spent on the Truitt family farm near Morrill, Nebraska. In 1965, Brad moved with his family to Cherokee, OK where his parents acquired the Katy Inn Motel. Brad was a proud Cherokee Chief, graduating from Cherokee High School in 1972.

After high school graduation, Brad attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva, OK. Brad subsequently transferred to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK where he was enrolled in the School of Technology with emphasis in Power Transmission & Distribution Technology.

Brad’s entire professional career was devoted to Western Farmers Electric Cooperative in Anadarko, OK where he held the title of Senior Electrical Power Engineer until his retirement in January 2009. Brad was well respected by his peers in the power industry.

Family and friends who knew Brad well would most often describe him as intelligent, honest, direct, funny, and with a extreme dry sense of humor. He delighted in purchasing non-essential electronic gadgets. His primary focus, after retirement, was taking care of his two border collie dogs, Rowdy and Daisy. Brad’s love of his dogs was very clear....Rowdy required considerable attention due to frequent seizures requiring medication several times per day. Brad knew the difference between
being an animal owner and an animal lover.

Brad’s hobbies included horseback riding, gardening, cooking, and amateur astrology. Brad made many trips to the Canadian Rockies on his numerous outfitters horseback trail riding adventures.

He was preceded in death by his parents Forrest and Helen Truitt of Claremore, OK.

Survivors include sister Becky Hopper and husband Phil of Claremore, OK. Brothers Ed Truitt and wife Beth of Claremore, OK, Jim Truitt and wife Wendi of Claremore, OK. Nieces and nephew include Marna Favor of Claremore, OK, Matt Truitt of Edmond, OK, Lori Hampton of Claremore, OK, Tiffany Fitzsimmons of Bartlesville,OK, Tayler Truitt of Claremore, OK and Michelle Meisch of Towanda, KS. Numerous other step and great nieces and nephews survive.
