October 8, 1971 - December 1, 2020

Graveside service for Chad Pope will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Winganon Cemetery, under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, December 7, from 1-5 pm. Chad passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at the age of 49. Chad was born to Tom and Ellen Pope on October 8, 1971, in Claremore. He grew up on the family farm near Alluwe, graduating from Alluwe High School in 1989. While in high school, he also studied Auto Body Repair at Tri-County Technical School. On October 5, 1990, Chad married Carey. The following year, they moved to Coweta, where Chad had a job as Assistant Manager at Sonic. Eventually, the couple moved back to the Chelsea area to be near family, where Chad and his family raised and trained horses. 2001 brought another change to Chad's life, when he began truck driving school. Chad took great care of his mother and father, and loved spending time with family and friends, especially Brian Wilson and his family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Pope, brother, Stacy Pope, sister-in-law Jennifer Barbee, and nephews Dustin Pope and Damonte Barbee. Survivors include Tom Pope of Chelsea, Carey Pope of Nowata, Jane Barbee, Christopher Barbee of Nowata, Ashton Barbee of Dewey, Terry Donaldson, Jr., Kaysha Donaldson, and Peighton Shade, all of Nowata, and Greg, Robin, and Lucas Barbee of Bartlesville, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were family.
