Danna Kay Montgomery-Guthery

Danna Kay Montgomery-Guthery was called to her heavenly home on August 29, 2019. She was 72. A service celebrating her life will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 5, 2019 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 4 from 1pm-8pm.
Kay was born on July 6, 1947 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She and her family attended Gospel Temple Church. At the age of 13, she made a profession of faith and was baptized. She attended Westside Elementary School followed by The Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur. After her secondary education, she attended Claremore Beauty College.
Kay moved to California, and resided there for a short time. She returned to Owasso where she was active in her church, and enjoyed working with Cub Scouts. Kay moved back to Claremore in 2001, allowing her to help care for her parents.
She enjoyed camping with her family, visiting friends, and watching western and scary movies, while eating popcorn. In May of 1997 she received the first hearing impaired service dog given in Oklahoma. She was very proud of her fur baby, MC.
Her family was her pride and joy. She helped care for several of her nieces and nephews, and enjoyed spoiling them. She also babysat for several area families. Kay loved music and dancing. Her favorite bands were 3 Dog Night and Meatloaf. She also loved having her picture taken and most recently enjoyed playing with Snapchat.
Kay was welcomed to her heavenly home by her parents, Tracy and Norma Montgomery and brother Scott Montgomery. She will be dearly missed by sisters Carla Shelton of Claremore, Joyce Battenfield and husband David of Terlton, Cleasa Phillips of Tulsa, and brother Tracy (Mike) Montgomery and wife Glenda of North Carolina. Nieces Emily Chester and husband George, Stacy Dukovic and husband Peter, Jennifer Raddatz and husband Shaun, and Natalie Phillips; nephews Matthew Fisher, Adam Fisher and wife Whitney, Aaron Phillips and wife Kristie. Great nieces Madison Chapman and wife Christian, Yasmeen Aljaroudi, Zoe Phillips, Sophie Fisher, Scarlett Phillips, Libbie Jones and Andrianna Chapman. Great nephews Tracy Chester, Michael Dukovic, Abram Phillips, Noah Fisher, Yasser Aljaroudi, Duke Phillips, Nathan Fisher, and Caleb Raddatz, and Uncle Roy Dale Vincent and wife Jettie of Texas, plus many beloved cousins and dear friends.
