Donald Raymond Bartlett

Donald Raymond Bartlett, 84, of Locust Grove, Oklahoma passed away Monday, May 23rd, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born to James Reynolds and Minnie Irene (Wimberly) Bartlett on April 11th, 1938, in Wetumka, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joe Bartlett.

Donald graduated from Union High School in 1956 before serving in the United States Marine Corps and going on to graduate from the University of Tulsa. Donald made a career as an officer with the Tulsa Police Department and retired as Deputy Chief of Police Operations.

During retirement he enjoyed reading, keeping up with current events, and golfing with friends in Pryor. Donald cherished his family and was happiest in the company of loved ones.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lesta Bartlett, of the home; two daughters, Tami Bartlett-Wright and Steve Rodríguez of Catoosa, Oklahoma, and Traci Strafuss and husband David, of Claremore, Oklahoma and three grandchildren, Colby Strafuss, Cameron Strafuss, and Jacy Johnson and husband Cole; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Bartlett, and wife Lila, of Houston, Texas; and one uncle, Fred Bartlett, and wife Sue, of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 11 AM to 12:45 PM at Inola Funeral Home and Crematory. A funeral service will be held 1 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Inola Funeral Home and Crematory with Tulsa Police Chaplain Danny Lynchard officiating.
