Donel “Donnie” Ray Wells, of Claremore, OK passed away on April 26th 2021 in Foyil, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 3rd 2021 at Friendly Foyil Baptist Church with Rick Thomas officiating. A private burial service will follow at Wards Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are by MMS Payne Funeral Home.
Donnie was born in Claremore, OK to Melvin and Vesta “Sue” Wells on March 30th of 1956. He went to school in Claremore, OK and graduated in 1974. He married Tammie Barnes on August 22nd 1980 in Claremore, OK. He worked as a Security Guard at Centrilift for 15 years. He then worked as a Detention Officer at Rogers County Sheriffs Office until his retirement on April 1st 2021. His hobbies included fishing and cheering on his children and grandchildren at numerous sporting events.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Vesta “Sue” Wells, Sister-in-Law Nena Wells and numerous aunts and uncles.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Tammie of Foyil, OK. His children, Jamie Cobb and husband Nahoa and their children Kelela, Elizabeth, Nicky and Logan of Locust Grove, Matthew Wells and his children Ryan and Emerson of Claremore, Jeremy Wells and Shelbie and their children Wyatt, Hayden, Peyton, Bentley and Savannah of Oologah, Mark Wells and wife Monica and their children Hunter, River and Charley Ray of Claremore, and his bonus daughter Kelsey Allen of Claremore. He is survived by his brothers Ronnie Wells and Jerry Wells and Shawna of Claremore and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
