Floyd Alvis Patrick

November 24, 1927 — August 8, 2020

Floyd A. Patrick “Popie” passed away at home surrounded by his family on August 8th, 2020 he was 92 years young! Floyd has been a Rogers County native all his life. His mother Bretha married Load Horner of Owalla. While growing up he attended Owalla Grade School. He married Ruth Evelyn Green of Sageeyah, The Love of his life. They enjoyed traveling and going to country dances. He served in the Army during WWII and Korea. He worked for the contractor on the Oologah Dam and dismantling of Will Rogers’s home, then moving it to the current location. After which he was then hired on at the Corp of Engineers where he worked for 20 years. Floyd grew up in a fishing family, however, he himself did not like to catch them, only eating them! He enjoyed working on his 5 generation farm, raising cattle and tinkering on things, always ready to help everyone out with anything they needed. Popie had a sweet tooth for one of his favorite desserts was Tammy's homemade ice cream. Floyd loved to travel. He did not care where the destination was he just loved to get in the car and go.
