Gloria Ann Hooks

Gloria Ann Hooks (Meeks) was born December 06, 1961, to Homer Meeks Sr. and Mamie B Meeks (Tillman) in Osceola, Arkansas. She passed away in Tulsa, OK, May 28, 2020. She grew up in Osceola, AR where she graduated from high school in 1978.
Gloria married Henry Hooks in December of 1985, in Claremore, OK, where they lived for the remainder of their time together. In the early years they would spend time traveling to visit with family which she enjoyed a lot.
She was employed with Hillcrest Claremore for 32 years in the dietary department as a cook.
As a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church she helped as an usher and even in the kitchen. She has been a member of Mt. Zion for over 25 years.
Gloria enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, shopping, and playing cards, especially solitaire, once she discovered she could have it on her phone. She was one to help if needed, always in her special way.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Henry Hooks, parents Homer and Mamie Meeks and brothers Homer Meeks Jr. and Dennis Meeks.
Survivors include brothers, Cleveland Woodson, Saginaw, MI., and Forrest Meeks, Claremore, OK. sisters, Bernice Tillman, Osceola, AR., Shirley Woodson, Cleveland, OH., Ruby Marshall, Saginaw, MI., Mary Williams (Allen), Claremore, OK., and Carolyn Meeks, Claremore, OK. Also surviving are a host of nephews and nieces, as well as great-nephews and nieces.
