Janet Lynn Hendricks

January 2, 1957 — February 11, 2018

Service for Janet Lynn Hendricks will be 10:00a.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at Destiny Life Church. Janet passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018. She was 61.

Born January 2, 1957 in Tripoli, Libya to William Harvey and Billie Ruth (Hough) Towne, Janet was from a military family and they made their home in many different areas. When her father retired, they moved to Claremore and Janet attended schools there. During her school years she was involved with 4-H and it was here that she began her love of training dogs. Following her graduation from Claremore High School with the class of 1975, Janet married John Hendricks, Jr. on January 15, 1976 and with the exception of 8 years in Moore, Claremore has been home.

A mother first, Janet’s priority was taking care of her girls and her husband. Her kind and giving heart also extended to other family members and friends. She took care of her mother with selfless love and others throughout her life. Her passion for dogs and training them allowed her to have a career that she loved. Her accomplishments and awards were a testament of her knowledge of the business. Janet gave her all to everything in her life. She was one of Clem’s cowpokes, when Clem McSpadden was on the campaign trail. She was very musically talented, playing the piano and singing. It was said she could play a mean air harmonica as well. Janet was very crafty and could quilt and sew beautifully. Her ability to give meaningful and constructive counseling to folks, made each of the recipients feel like she cared for them like no other.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Janet will be missed by all who knew her. Those family members that survive include her husband John of their home; her daughters Billie Nicole Laymon and husband Matt of Collinsville and Sarah McNally and husband Dustin of Claremore; her grandchildren Hayden McNally, Sellah McNally, Addison Laymon, Kennedy Laymon, Reed Laymon and John Edward Dylan McNally; her sisters Betty, Kathy and Ranae; her brother John Harvey and a host of aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, William and Billie.
