Memorial service for Jeremy Todd Gibbs will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Inola Funeral Home Chapel. Doug Boling will officiate.
Jeremy passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the age of 45.
The son of David Gibbs and Linda Muncy was born September 21, 1973 in Lompock, California. Being the son of an military man, David and his family were stationed at a few Air Force bases over the years. There were stints at Enid and even in Hawaii before the family settled back home in Inola. There he would attended school graduating with the class of 1991. After graduation he began working for George Kaiser. While working in the mail room one day he was introduced to George Kaiser personally. The next thing, Jeremy knew was that he had become one of Mr. Kaiser's personal drivers. Eventually Jeremy left there and enrolled in college at Oklahoma State University. However about a year later he decided to leave college and move to Colorado. He refereed to his time there as "being on tour". His time there was short as well and he joined the United States Navy. He served from 1999 through 2006. It was during this time that he met Jessica. The two married and made their home in Jacksonville, Florida. The two later divorced and Jeremy moved to be closer to his family. His time after that was spent between his mother in Arkansas and his dad in Inola.
Jeremy had many hobbies he enjoyed. Playing pranks and telling jokes were just a couple. He loved collecting comic books. There are close to four thousand in his collection. Spider man was his favorite. He also loved reading, listening to music and wathching any tv show about his favorite comic book characters. However spending time with his family and friends was his true love.
He is survived by his parents, Linda Muncy and David Gibbs; son Elvis Gibbs; brother, Bradley Gibbs; grandparents, Enis and Opal Smith, nieces and nephews, Britney Kalis, Bradley Gibbs and Bau Gibbs. aunts, Sandy Fugate Denise Rambo, and Debbie; uncle, Michael Gibbs and many other extended family.
