Jesse Eugene Mohon

November 22, 1927 — July 25, 2021

A memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later time for family and friends who wish to pay their respects.

Jesse Eugene Mohon passed away on July 25, 2021. He was 93 years old. Husband, Daddy, Papa, Gene, Mr. Mohon, Uncle Gene, Uncle Geno, or whatever name you knew him by, you knew one tough man of God. He wore many hats in his 93 years on Earth. He was a Christian, cowboy, paratrooper, cradle robber, pipe-liner, ranch hand, VO-AG  teacher, and an important figure in many lives. In all that he did he led by example. He read God’s word and practiced it, he missed the draft so he signed up anyway, he may have robbed the cradle but  he and his Muffet showed us a strong marriage of 67 years, he’s been retired from teaching for over 30 years and his students continue to cherish him.
He truly lived a fulfilled life. He loved to ride horses, camp, fish, play cards, read any western he could get a hold of, and you could count on him always working the puzzles from the Tulsa World, he was a true strategist. He gave us many memories to look back on and carry with us; a special one for his girls is him singing, “you picked a fine time to leave me Lucille” which always made Tia stay a bit longer.
This stubborn, eyebrow raising, but sweet and loving man did pick a fine time to leave us. We all rest easy and know with whom he now resides. He is strolling those streets of gold in his cowboy boots, or horseback herding the cattle on a thousand hills.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents Basil and Mayme Mohon and grandson Cole Fuller.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne of the home; Son, Brad Mohon and wife Angie of Claremore, Oklahoma; Daughter De Ritter and husband Dwight of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Granddaughters Tia Garten and husband Brady, Jenna Hack and husband Garrett; Grandsons Jesse Mohon and Evan Ritter; and great-grand children Hollis and KayDe Hack.
