John Wayne Rock

A memorial service will be held on April 15, 2022 at the MMs-Payne funeral home Chapel. John Wayne Rock, 68, of Claremore, OK passed away on February 5, 2022. He was born to Charlie and Lillian Rock on 4/18/1953 in Tahlequah, OK. John served his country in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era. After his military service he worked in the oilfield and traveled the highways as a truck driver with his brothers. John enjoyed bullriding, playing softball/baseball during his younger adult years, telling stories, fishing with his brother-in-law, honky tonkin’ and most of all visiting with his family. John is survived by his daughter Debra Crecy and husband Johnny of Canton, TX, 4 sons - Johnny Rock and wife Jessica of Hurst, TX, Chris Rock and wife Carrie of Keller, TX, Tyler Edwards and wife Kara of Indian Hills, CO and Mackey Rock of Coweta, OK. Grandsons Jerrod, Dalton, Steven, Dakota, Trevyn, Jacob and Orbrey. Granddaughters Ceaira, Mazzy, Ella, Zia, Paislee, Brittany and significant other Justin, Morgan, Alanah and Amelia and 5 great grandchildren John, Hayden, Grayson, Hartlee and Jerrod Jr. His Brother Herbert and wife Charlene of Alma, AR, sister Sarah Rex of Claremore, OK, brother-in-laws Benny Guthrie of Claremore, OK and Gene Turner of Tulsa, OK and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Charlie Rock Jr, sisters Mary Turner, Flo Guthrie and June Walker and sister-in-law Bernice Rock.
