Katherine Jean Schonholtz

A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 21st, 2022 from 1 PM to 6 PM, with family being present from 5 PM to 6 PM, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 10 AM, Thursday, September 22nd, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Claremore, Oklahoma with Bro. Randy Childers officiating.

Katherine Jean (Appleby) Schonholtz, 78, passed away on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was born February 15th, 1944 to Roy Robert and Opal Letha (Ritchie) Appleby in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Schonholtz; two brothers, Earl and Kenneth Appleby; and sister Mary Miller.

Katherine grew up in Tulsa and was a graduate of Central High School. She married the love of her life, John on March 26th, 1982 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Claremore. She loved playing cards, fishing, and listening and playing music. She also enjoyed singing and playing guitar. When her health allowed, she enjoyed going to eat with her friends. Being around her family brought her joy.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia St. John; Babbie and Nathan Berryman; grandson, Cody St. John; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive her.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Nowata Nursing Center.
