Kenneth Earl (Kenny) Jones

March 18, 1960 — March 3, 2020

Service celebrating the life of Kenneth Earl "Kenny" Jones will be 4:00p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at his home, 404 C Street Southwest, Inola, Oklahoma. Kenny passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. He was 59.

Kenneth "Kenny" Earl Jones was born March 18, 1960, in Grove, Oklahoma, to Billy Frank Jones and Bessie Mae Jones. Kenny received his education at Inola High School and Votech. Kenny married his current wife Fran Marlene Fellers on May 26, 2013. Together they restored the old Lonestar Schoolhouse in Catoosa Oklahoma, living there a short while before settling & building their beautiful home in Inola, Oklahoma.

Kenny was a wonderful family man, husband, & friend, who was also hard working all his life as the 4th eldest of 11 kids. He helped support his family by splitting wood, digging trees, hunting/fishing, farming animals, baling hay, breaking horses, whatever necessary. In his adult life, he worked hard as a ranch hand, barge hand, hazardous material handler, carpenter, plumber, electrical journeyman, handyman, remodeler, landscaper, welder, metal worker, and painter, which included painting the famous Catoosa Blue Wale. Folks always said "if Kenny couldn't fix it we're screwed"!

Kenny enjoyed working on his pond, property, gardening, fishing, woodworking, canning, making Jerky, tinkering on old cars especially his old Willys Jeep, & his Uncle Dale's Ford Dully, and trading anything/everything. But he most enjoyed time with his current wife, family, friends, and his dog Wylie!

Family members to survive Kenny are his wife Fran; sons Nick and Matt; daughter Megan; sisters Fran and Brenda; brothers David, Charlie, Raymond, and Burt; granddaughters Olivia and Kate; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Kenny survived several significant life events such as, while working on a barge in Verdigris River, he was knocked into the 20 degree freezing water with heavy work shoes/clothes on and he swam to safety while avoiding drowning/freezing and getting smashed by two barges. Also while working to tear down an old barn, he fell 30 feet getting knocked out on the way down by splitting his head on a rafter, hitting the ground miraculously not breaking any bones. He was life flighted to a Tulsa hospital.

However, his body couldn't survive Aplastic Anemia and MDS Cancer. He fought for 2 years, surviving chemotherapy, but his body became too weak to make it to a bone marrow transplant.

Those who wish to honor Kenny with a memorial contribution may do so by sending preferably plants that can be placed in his garden or home, or by contributing to the MDS Foundation, 473 South Broadway, Suite 150, Yard Villa, New Jersey 08620.
