Ladema Moore

February 28, 1933 — August 21, 2018

Graveside service for Ladema Moore will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Chouteau West Cemetery, Chouteau, Oklahoma. Ladema passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. She was 85.

Born February 28, 1933 in Chouteau, Oklahoma to Hogan Graham and Dorothy (Hendricks) Pearson, Ladema was reared and educated in Chouteau. Following her schooling, she married James "Jim" Moore and the couple made their home in Pryor. Their family was blessed with two daughters. Ladema worked for a time at Montgomery Wards and Tower Discount in Pryor, before opening her in-home day care. Her love of children and caring nature made it possible for Ladema to care for many children for over 20 plus years. Some of the children she kept brought their children to Ladema to receive that same loving kindness she gave them.

A wonderful cook, Ladema had a library of cook books. She read them all and even placed notes on the inside cover marking the best recipe in the book. Ladema enjoyed traveling to different places, but a trip to Tulsa was also a fun time. Her devotion to serving the Lord was most evident in her life. She worshiped at North Elliott Church of God and was involved with everything from Vacation Bible School, funeral dinners, and any other spot they needed her. She read her Bible from beginning to end each year and encouraged her family and friends to do the same. Her faithful trust in the Lord got her through many of life's difficulties.

Family was most important to Ladema and she was especially excited when her grand babies began to arrive. She loved having time with them and spent that time just playing games or doing whatever they wanted.

Those family members that survive include her daughters Beverly Cookson and husband Richard of Skiatook, and Cheryl Lewis and husband Jimmy of Pryor; her granddaughters Kendal Roberts and husband Ryan of Claremore, Jamie Tew and husband Keith of Owasso, and Ashley Wilbanks and husband Harry of Pryor; her great-grandchildren Matthew, Payton, and Luke Roberts, Gavin, Olivia, and Sophia Tew, and Charlee Wilbanks. Ladema was preceded in death by her husband Jim and her brother Jim Hendricks.
