Lucy passed away at her home on Friday, January 19, 2018, with family by her side. She was 85.

Born December 13, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Claude and Lytle Ann (Malone) Silkey, Lucy received her education from Chelsea, graduating high school with the class of 1951. While working in Tulsa at the Safeway Grocery Store at 3rd and Denver, she met Tommy Duncan. The couple married on May 2, 1954 in a Tulsa ceremony, and made their home in Tulsa, later moving to Dallas, then to Sapulpa. In 1971 the family moved to Claremore, and this has been home since.

Lucy's family was her first priority and they knew she loved them. It was important to her that her children had everything they need and wanted. Christmas time around the Duncan household was most exciting, with wonderful food and gifts that Lucy lovingly chose for each of her daughters. Lucy was very talented and could sew just about anything you could think of. She worked for a time at Tack and Such, creating various designs for the winner’s circle horse racing blankets. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived her life. She taught her girls that the Bible was where they could always find the truth.

Those family members that survive include her daughters Kathy Duncan Strickland, Cindy Ann Duncan, and Rhonda Duncan Maggard and husband Mike, all of Claremore; her grandchildren Kacie Maggard of Claremore, Shannon and Jason Schuler of Sequoyah, Sherry and Aaron Wilson of Justus, and Brent Duncan Callison and wife Amber of Broken Arrow; great-grandchildren Jesi and Haylee Schuler, and Addie and Braden Wilson.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tommy; her grandson Matthew Dean Maggard, and 9 siblings.

Those who wish to honor Lucy's memory with a memorial contribution may do so by contributing to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
