Nancy Ilene Moore

September 13, 1950 — February 18, 2021

Nancy Ilene Moore was born September 13, 1950. She was the sixth of ten children in the William B. and Geraldine (Lewis) Moore household. She grew up on a small farm, just outside of Claremore, in Tiawah. Nancy attended Tiawah Elementary School and later graduated from Inola High School, Class of 1968. During this time, Nancy attended Willieo Baptist Church where she surrendered her heart to Jesus and followed the Lord in Believers baptism. Nancy began work for Tiawah Schools in 1984. Here she enjoyed working with children as a dedicated para-professional until her retirement in 2019.
Nancy passed away at home, February 18, 2021. Her family was by her side.
Nancy was dedicated to taking care of the home where she helped guide and care for her younger siblings after the death of their mother. Family would always remain a priority for Nancy whether it was babysitting and caring for her numerous nieces and nephews, or just spending time with her many brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins, she loved them all. It is no surprise that one of her many hobbies was doing family history research, collecting family pictures and stories. Nancy was also a fabulous cook, a great seamstress, she loved to garden, and for many years took care of her pet birds, parrots. Nancy was also a talented artist whose oil paintings hang in many loved ones homes. Many of those closest to Nancy will remember her love of Rock and Roll music and how much she loved to play her record collection. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents: William and Geraldine (Lewis) Moore, her brothers: Jerry M. Moore and Glenn N. Moore, her sisters: Glenda M. Knight and JoAnn Troxell, brothers-in-law: James R. Troxell and Dennis R. Wolf, sister-in-law: Jane D. Moore, nephews: Alan R. Knight, Richard W. Knight and niece: Adriene R. Knight.
