Juanita Eve Allsup was born on October 6, 1928 in Tahlequah to Logan and Mamie Pearl (Burgess) Scott. She was reared and educated in her birth community, except for a time she and her family spent in Colorado. Following her schooling she met Troy Tillery. They married and the couple made their home in Tahlequah and in later years, Claremore. Nita was a wonderful homemaker. She excelled at being a mom and taking care of her family. Nita was talented at many things in her life, a good cook and seamstress to name a few. She enjoyed gardening and canned its bounty, and everyone remembers her canned picante sauce. Nita also loved to bowl and spending time with her family, which usually included large meals and leftovers for the kids to take home. She never drove a car and only flew on an airplane once. Her loving heart and giving nature suited her well in her volunteering efforts with Meals on Wheels and the Good Samaritan Ministry along with many other charitable organizations. In 1984 she married Odell “Odie” Allsup, both had lost their spouses and this was a second chance for them have someone to share their lives with.
A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Nita will be missed by all she knew. Those family members that survive include her children Karon Anderson and husband Pete of Claremore, Donald Giles and Ronald Giles and wife Sheila all of Pryor, David Gideon and wife Carol of Owasso, Bill Tillery and wife Jennie of Grove, Charleen Prebble and husband David, Lavonda Allsup and Teresa Allsup all of Claremore; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren; her sister Patsy Hale of Abilene, Texas; her brothers Wayne Scott of Tahlequah and J. Barry Scott and wife Nellie of Wichita, Kansas and many nieces and nephews. Nita was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Kenneth Scott and both husbands, Troy Tillery and Odie Allsup.
