Ola Mae Klass

September 13, 1942 — October 24, 2018

Services for Ola Mae Klass will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2018 at First United Methodist Church; burial will follow at Dawes Cemetery.  Ola Mae passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.  She was 76.
Born September 13, 1942 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Walter Richard and Lavonne (Boling) Oney, Ola Mae attended schools at Adair, graduating with the class of 1960.  She later took classes to obtain her beauticians license.  In October of 1969 she married Norman Arnold Klass. The couple made their home near Adair. Together, Ola Mae and Norman managed their large farm and enjoyed raising their children there.
Ola Mae was first and foremost a mother and she took the position to heart.  There was never a time she didn’t have her family placed first in her life.  This started quite early on when she was taking care of her parents and later her children. It was just what she did, never thinking of herself. She just gave everything she had to help when needed.  Each of her family members, extended family members, and friends’ lives were made better because of her effortless way of taking care of them.
A trailblazer for her time, Ola Mae held a position on the Adair’s School Board for 25 years.  They benefited from her wisdom and intelligence.  She volunteered at her church whenever needed, from the Christmas floats to the church plays. Ola Mae was always there.  She also found time to be involved with prison ministry.
One might say she was a force of nature, an intense and determined individual that you wanted on your side.  She had the strength of an army and was always a devoted and loving person.  Ola Mae gave credit to her Christian faith for guiding her way throughout her life, which was evident in her daily walk.
Those family members that survive include her husband Norman of almost 50 years; her children Clark Norman Klass of Owasso, Marcy Lavonne Klass of Claremore, and Ned Oney Klass and wife Lisa of Sand Springs; her grandchildren Brittany Jones, Cassie Jones, Peyton Klass, and Kenlee Klass; her son-in-law David Jones; her sisters Emma Lou Peper of Adair and Edith Kay of Claremore. Nieces and nephews include Dr. Tim Kay, Kathy Allen, Tammy Hill, Debra Kay, Todd Peper, and Julie Holt. She was also a great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Ola Mae was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Lavonne Oney.
