Funeral service for Broken Arrow resident, Peggy Lou Roughley will be 1:00 pm Friday, October 12, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Verdigris. Pastor Mark Boyd will officiate. Burial will follow at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow. Visitation will be at MMS-Payne Funeral Home in Claremore on Thursday, October 11, from 1-8 pm.

Peggy passed away at her daughter's home in Broken Arrow on Monday, October 8th, 2018. She was 90 years old.

Born in Ponca City, OK on September 4, 1928, Peggy was the daughter of Charles Curtis Harrington and Kathleen Emma (Smith) Harrington. Peggy worked as a telephone operator and caregiver at different times in her life. She was a devoted member of her church, and church work was a big part of her life. On September 12, 2009, she married William Edward Roughley in Verdigris, Oklahoma.

In her spare time, Peggy also enjoyed square dancing, crocheting, and craft work. She was a member of Home Demonstration Club for fifty years. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Helen Bain, and siblings Paul Herrington, Robert C. Herrington, Jim Herrington, and Mary Ann Herrington.

Family members that survive are her husband, Ed Roughley; children, Janice Bookout and husband Chuck, Pauline Terrel, John Bain, Michael McIntyre and wife Laurie; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Kay Herrington, and sister Ina Downing and husband Scott.
