Born July 14, 1931 in Northfork, West Virginia, to George Henry and Reba Gertrude (Norris) Carroll, Sue graduated from Northfork High School and continued her education at West Virginia University. In 1952, Sue married Andrew Horne, and to this union three children were born. She was a wonderful homemaker and when her children were older, she received her Realtor license and began a successful career selling homes. Through the years Sue was named in the “Million Dollar Club” and also received her CRS certification. On January 2, 1988, she married Robert Vincent Hines and remained in Virginia until his passing in 2004, when she moved to Claremore to be near family.
Sue was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, the Investment Club, and was a founding member of the Claremore Symphony League. She loved to travel, and saw 50 states, and most of Ireland. Sue always thought of the future and planned for most everything. She took great care of her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Those family members that survive include her children, Rebecca Elliott and husband Rick of Claremore, Andrew Horne and wife Karen of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, and David Horne of Kodiak, Alaska; her grandchildren, Melissa Horne of Boulder, Colorado, Andrew Horne and wife Ashley of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Kyle Elliott of Oklahoma City, Hannah Elliott of Tulsa, and Brittany Horne of Spokane, Washington; also her great-grandson Drew Horne of Fort Mill, South Carolina; sister-in-law Susan Williamson; nephew Mike Carroll, and niece Sallie Carroll.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, George and Reba Carroll, husband Robert Hines, and her brother, George Carroll.
