Tommie Marie Moore passed away on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at the age of 87.
The daughter of Thomas and Goldie (Brower) Martin was born June 1, 1932 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. As a young girl she and her family spent a short time in Texas before returning to Cleveland. There she would later attend school, graduating as a member of the Cleveland High School class of 1949. After graduating, Tommie began working at the local Rexall Drug store. It was there that she would meet Glen Moore. They began dating on July 4, 1952 and married on July 2, 1953. The newly wed couple continued living in Cleveland until 1955, when they moved to Tulsa. While in Tulsa, when her children were young, she taught Sunday School at her local church. In December of 1966 the couple made one last move to Chelsea. There they purchased a small farm just outside of town.
Tommie had many hobbies and past times that she enjoyed. She loved attending Epworth Methodist Church. There she was known for bringing cookies for numerous occasions. In fact she was given the nick name of the "cookie lady". She also enjoyed puzzles, reading, crocheting, and aerobics. However, her favorite things revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Goldie Martin; brother, Jimmy Dale Martin and sister Sue Spencer.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Glen T. Moore of the home; sons, Steve Moore and wife DeAnn of Chelsea, and Larry Moore and wife Sonya of Sharpsburg, GA; brother, Jerry Martin and wife Zoleta of Mannford; grandchildren, Lacey Moore, Krystal Morgan, Dakota Moore, Allison Moore and Nathan Moore; great-grandchildren, Remmington Morgan and Ward Wild, along with many other nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Tommie to the Epworth Methodist Church at 311 E. 6th St. Chelsea, Oklahoma 74016.
