The son of Milo and Wanda Frump Jackman was born February 14th, 1940 in Alluwe, Oklahoma. As a young boy he and his family moved to rural Craig County.  There he attended Vinita and Big Cabin School, graduating from Big Cabin High School in 1957. After graduating, Steve enrolled in college at NEO in Miami, on a rodeo scholarship. There he met his future wife, Mary Jane Moore, and the two were wed December 30th, 1962. Upon earning a degree in Agriculture Technology from NEO, he enrolled at Oklahoma State University.  During his time there, Steve joined the rodeo team, and once again was elected to serve as the team captain.  In 1965 Steve graduated from OSU and moved to Jenks. His daughter, Tysh, was born in Tulsa in 1966. His first job out of college was teaching drafting and architecture at Jenks High School. This, however, wasn't his only job.  He started Jackman & Jackman Custom Contractors and built many homes in the Tulsa area.  In 1982 Steve would marry Tiny Sumter and move to Claremore.  It was also around this time that he took a job working for the city of Tulsa.  He would retire from there in the mid 2000's as a Building Inspector. This gave him more time to concentrate on other things he enjoyed, such as raising horses, cattle, and the occasional chicken.  He also enjoyed his morning coffee at McDonalds, and lunch at Eggberts. Other hobbies and past times included watching bull riding on tv and drawing house plans for friends and family.
Steve was many things to many different people. To some he was a cantankerous man who wasn't afraid to speak his opinion. Others knew him as the kind and caring person, who kept every card he received from family and friends. To others he was a great companion, and by all he will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Milo Jackman and Wanda Cole, and sister, Louise Livingston.
Survivors include his daughters, Tysh Jackman-Nelson of Deerfield, Illinois, and Kim Edinger and husband Tom of Claremore; grandchildren, Carter and Audrey Nelson of Deerfield, Illinois, Colten Barnes and wife Alycia, and Alex Haralson and husband Bryant, all of Claremore; great-grandson, Brooks Barnes, sister, Aline Willard of Alexandria, Louisiana, nieces, Sheryl Weaver and Terri Pierson of Kingfisher, OK, cousins, Lil Cochran and Fran Jackman Moore, and special friend, Rachel Addington.
