Wanda Marie (Beck) House was born in Chelsea, Oklahoma on May 27, 1921, to Walter Franklin Beck and Lelia Ann (Rathfon) Beck. She was nicknamed "Sis" or "Sissy", and had six brothers and sisters: Sylvia (Honey) Leathers, Harold (Bud) Beck, Madeline (Matt) Stone, Caldwell (Buck) Beck, Norma Jean (Becky) Hemphill, and Kenneth (Shorty) Beck. Wanda married Clifford Lee House, Sr. (Punk) on December 30, 1939. Wanda and Punk were married for 75 years before he preceded her in death at the age of 97, on March 22, 2015. Wanda and Punk had four children. They and their spouses are: Linda Marie Bacon and husband Rob, Clifford Lee House, Jr. and wife Ann Marie (French) House, Gary Wayne House and wife Connie (Johnson) House, and Phyllis Ann Grimes and husband Randy Grimes, who both preceded her in death. Wanda and Punk had seven grandchildren. They and their spouses are: Tammy Gaff and husband Dusty, Trent Inman and wife Ruth, Amberlie Johnson, Holly Meek and husband Austin, Caleb House, and Casey House and wife Savannah. Grandson, Tim Inman preceded her in death. Wanda had ten great-grandchildren. They and their spouses are: Dakota Gaff and wife Ashley, Justin Inman, Cody Inman, Cheyenne Gaff, Nick McCauley, Avery Inman, Fletcher Inman, Daxon Inman, Arden Meek, and Vivian Meek. Wanda had a generous heart and she was a kind friend. Often she would sit and visit with her friends on the telephone. If someone lost a family member, she would make a coconut cream pie to take to the funeral. She was a great cook. Coconut cream pie and chocolate pie were some of her specialties. Also, she made a lot of gravy in her lifetime! Wanda always wanted you to be well fed. She loved to make her grandchildren's favorite foods when they came to visit, and she prided herself on keeping a clean house. As a child, she remembered that she liked to jump rope. As an adult, she liked to go to Branson. She liked country music and polka TV shows; and she loved to shop. Wanda was a member of First Christian Church of Chelsea, the Eastern Stars, and also TOPS. When asked what was her advice to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she said, "Always be sweet". Her advice about marriage: "We had good times and hard times, but we always stuck together and worked through them." Wanda was a sweet woman. She loved her husband well. She was a good mother who loved her children. She was a grandmother who delighted in and liked to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life was a gift from God to us. We will miss her. View and sign Wanda's online memorial at www.mmsfuneralhomes.com.
