William Russell Allton

William Russell Allton was born in Dewey, Oklahoma on April 25, 1931 to Russell Frank and Alice Mae (Steffens) Allton. He attended school in Claremore and graduated with the class of 1948. On August 26, 1949 Bill married Jimmie Louise Reed and the couple made Tulsa home for the first 25 years of marriage and the last 48 years have been spent in Claremore.

Bill worked as a gas wholesaler for Phillips Petroleum through the years. When he wasn't hard at work, he enjoyed time spent with his family. Bill's hobbies included taking care of the yard, golf, and feeding the birds. He and Jimmie loved to travel and the two were able to visit most of United States and several countries. Bill was a private man, but had many friends that he enjoyed visiting with.

Those family members that survive include his wife of 71 years, Jimmie Allton; 3 children; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Doug Allton and sister Betty Miller.

Bill passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021. He was 90. A private family service is planned.

The family is asking that in lieu of flowers and other condolences you might consider helping someone that has a need, giving food to the animal shelter, or donating time or funds to your favorite charity, thus ensuring Bill's memory lives on.
