Jay passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at the age of 86.
The son of Jay and Nora (Wisdom) Faulkner was born April 10, 1930 in Adair, Oklahoma. As a young boy, Jay and his family spent most of their time west of Adair, and Reedley and Dinuba, California, finally settling in the Adair area in 1949. After finishing school, he joined the United States Army. After completing his basic training, Jay was stationed in Germany, where he served in the artillery division. Upon his discharge he returned home to Adair where he reconnected with Barbara Ruth Rider. They would marry on July 11, 1953 in Vinita. The newly wed couple made their home in Tulsa. There Jay was working as an aircraft mechanic for McDonnell Douglas as well as serving in the Army reserves. He also worked for a time in Sanford, Florida on a Naval base for McDonnell Douglas. A few years later he took a job working for North American Rockwell, and then American Airlines, retiring in the mid 1990's.
In his spare time Jay had many hobbies and pastimes. He enjoyed being a Mason serving out of the Delta Lodge in Tulsa. Fishing was also another favorite hobby. He also loved going to flea markets where he would buy old fishing equipment. Then he would use his skills to refurbish them and sell them to other vendors. However the one thing he always looked forward to was visiting friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jay and Nora Faulkner, brothers Manuel Faulkner and Norman Faulkner, and an infant nephew.
Survivors include his wife Ruth of the home; nephews, Dwight, Coy and Mike Faulkner and nieces, Wathenia Faulkner O'bar, Diane Faulkner Dunbar and Brenda Faulkner.
