Marjorie E. Park

August 10, 1925 — December 20, 2014

Funeral service for Marjorie E. Park will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Faith Baptist Church. Pastor Wayne Keely will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of the MMS-Payne Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Marjorie Park passed away December 20, 2014 at the age of 89.

The daughter of Arthur and Mary "Ethel" Hann Custer was born August 10, 1925 in Chautauqua County, Kansas. Around the age of 5 she and her family moved to rural Chelsea, where her father was working in the oil fields. She attended Waller schools. A few years later she would meet Jack Park. They married on September 3, 1943 in Nowata. To this marriage was born two children, Darlene and Jackie. In the early 1950's she and her family moved to Claremore. With her children grown, Marjorie decided to enter the work force. She worked at the local laundry, Masons Dress Shop and Levine's before she took a job at J.C. Penny's. This was a perfect fit for her, because she loved being dressed up in the latest fashions. For over 13 years she was a faithful employee until retiring in 1962. In her spare time she collected owls and loved working on crafts. Making flower arrangements and bird houses where some of her favorite projects. Church was also a major part of her life. She has attended Faith Baptist for many years. There she was part of The Victory Trio with Yvonne and Ruth.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mary Custer; son, Jackie Allen Park; brothers, Wade, Irvin, Jasper "Dud", Glen, Bob and Wayne"Buck" Custer and sisters, Pearl Burchette, and Opal Morgan.

Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Cecil and husband Steve; daughter-in-law, Jo Beth Park; sister, Lela Peyton, grandchildren, Shawn Weaver and wife (Janelle), Steve Gourd and wife Janie, Shannon Gourd and wife Becky, Kristi Breisch and husband Keith, Tommi Raynor and husband Alan, and Jamie Ross and husband Colby; 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
