Johnny Lee Fivecoats

Services celebrating the life of Johnny Lee Fivecoats will be 3:00p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Memorial Heights Baptist Church, Claremore. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1-8pm on Tuesday, July 15, with family receiving visitors from 6-8pm. Johnny passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at his home. He was 73.
Johnny Lee “Big John” Fivecoats was born on March 21, 1941 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Carl Ray and Rushia “Rue” Bell (Seaman) Fivecoats. He received his education in Claremore, graduating with the class of 1960. Johnny continued his education by attending the University of Tulsa.
Johnny began his career in sales with the food industry. He worked for several companies, including Scrivner, Inc., Springdale Farms, Monfort & Mapelli Bros., Express Meat Company and Harvest Meat Company. He gave his best at work and taught his children the importance of a good work ethic. He retired with Harvest Meat Company in 2010.
A sports fan through and through, Johnny enjoyed coaching baseball. He was the #1 fan of the Owasso Rams, OK Attack Softball, Owasso Ballers, OK Titans Baseball, Bixby Spartans Basketball and Softball, Verdigris Cardinals Baseball, the Pittsburg State University Softball, OU Football, and Friends University Basketball. Johnny also loved working in his yard, fishing and woodworking. He was an active member of the Sunday school class at his church, Memorial Heights. His love for animals showed in the way he cared and loved his dogs.
Johnny will be missed by all who knew him. Those family members that survive include his wife Judy of their home in Owasso; his son Mark Fivecoats and wife Erin of Bixby; his daughter Jennifer Fivecoats of Owasso; his mother Rue Fivecoats of Muskogee; his grandchildren Alycia Fivecoats, Jesse Burd, Ryan Hurd, Breyden Fivecoats and Cayde Fivecoats; his sisters Saundra Summerhill of Muskogee and Karen Tapp of Colorado. Johnny was preceded in death by his father Carl and his sister Barbara Kay Fivecoats.
