Kaye Meacham

Service for Kaye Meacham will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Redeemer Lutheran Church; burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, February 25, from 1pm-8pm, with family receiving visitors from 5:30pm-8pm.  Kaye passed away on Friday, February 22nd, 2019.  She was 76.
Born April 18, 1942 in Liberal, Kansas to Howard LaVern and Flossa Fern (Green) Denton, Kaye was educated in Claremore with the class of 1960. She later continued her schooling at Claremore Jr. College and then finished at Northeastern State University, graduating there in 1983. Kaye began working as a teacher for Tulsa Public Schools. She retired in 2003 after teaching for 20 years. It was on April 4, 1959 that she married Lawrence Edward "Ed" Meacham. Soon after, they moved to Liberal, KS, but returned to Claremore a few years later.
Kaye enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest. Her family was always first and foremost in her mind, and she was always there to support them in all they did.  She enjoyed sewing, fishing, and gardening, and loved to have her family with her for special occasions, such as holidays and birthdays. Kaye kept the family traditions alive and always made time special for them. She was a wonderful dancer and spent many Friday evenings with her husband dancing the night away. She and Ed spent many hours together going to car shows and sharing their love of collecting classic cars. They were members of the Route 66 Cruisers and Tulsa Wheels car clubs. They even traveled with the many friends they made from the car shows, and were able to see a lot of the country from Canada to New Mexico. Kaye also gave time to her church, Redeemer Lutheran.
Those family members that survive include her husband Ed of the home; her children Vicky Miller and husband Robert, Connie McQueen and husband Lee, Trey Meacham and fiancée D’Laine, and Kelli Sellers and husband Justin; her grandchildren Kendra Sappington, Tim Lunsford, James Lunsford, Blake McQueen, Steven McQueen, Alex Meacham, Abbey Meacham, Emerson Meacham, Avery Sellers, and Lauren Sellers; 9 great-grandchildren; her sister Jean Hergert and husband Travis, and step-sister Brenda Holcomb and husband Duane.
Kaye was preceded in death by her mother, Flossa Peterman, step-father Charles Peterman, her father Howard Denton; her daughter Lisa Dawn Meacham; her siblings Buddy Denton and wife Lou, Faye Shoemaker and husband Tom, and Lee Ludwick and husband Paul.
